All of the emails have been excellent!! And some, very thought
provoking to say the least!! :-))

The following is "Outisde-the-Box" .. but, not that far down
the road - for those who might want to progress with technology.
Old habits and operating techniques are hard to part with -- YES,
even me!!

(1) Have the logging s/w so that it can "read" send and rcve side
of QSO (no matter what mode) - and LOG the QSO (for SSB, etc) completely
by speech recognition.

(2) Have the QSL cards (also) "bar-coded" so that a swipe of the wand
and the QSO card's data is read and completely sent to the logging 
program - with the QSO confirmed in the logbook.

And I might add....print the bar coded Post Office info onto my outbound and 
return 
address labels/envelopes.

I believe MS Word has this feature...
