I have been having a little problem lately, and tonight it escalated. For about 6 months I have been, intermittently, having the "summary window" stop functioning. I use it often as I chase band countries so it is a real problem for me. In the past I have used my "tried and true" method of fixing computer problems - close the program and restart the computer. This had worked till tonight.
I, like a lot of guys, don't read the instructions much so I decided to check the help info. I noticed that there is a way to turn this window function off and on in the "Internet/TNC" window. It was correctly set up, however. I back up my computer, import LOTW files, etc from time to time so I thought maybe it needed to be initialized and tried that. Nothing seemed to get better. I tried the restart again. This time all worked. I'm happy that it worked but a little worried that I don't know why! I am using a relatively old computer Dell Pentium II 133 w/250 MB of memory and Windows 98SE. I use 98 so that I can boot to DOS for using TR and because it will send CW without problems. I keep the same version of DXBase 2005 on the other computer in my shack (Windows XP SP2 with considerably faster processor, etc) and have never seen this problem on this machine. I networked the computers in the house about three weeks ago and had to reformat the hard drive of the radio computer and reinstall the DXBase (2005) so it is a fresh install. However, it had this little problem prior to the reinstall. Has this problem cropped up for anyone else, and if so what was the solution? Bill, W5VX
