there have been so many GREAT ideas and suggestions. I know that Jack and crew read and study our suggestions very seriously. Obviously not all issues can be addressed due to time and software restrictions. But keep those cards and letters coming.
Good Luck and Good DXing. * Ok Guys/Gals, here is my annual wish-list. * CONSISTENCY BETWEEN WINDOWS; * Copy/Paste should work the same with each of the windows that can be accessed from the 'WINDOWS' menu. * Mouse should work the same with each of the windows that can be accessed from the 'WINDOWS' menu. * Mouse wheel scrolling works in: o Internet Cluster window o DX Info Windows o In each pane of the QSL Info window o In the previous qso window. * It does NOT work in the QSO Log Window IF ANY QSO LINE IS HIGHLIGHTED. * DOUBLE CLICK RECOGNITIONS; Force of habit or just over anxiousness, but I frequently double click on cluster spots qsy button. Minor thing but in effect, it wipes out the ability to 'reset' to the previous frequency. Suggestion: Make a rapid double click disregard the second click or make 'reset' multiple layers deep. * INCREASE THE SIZE OF DROP DOWN LISTS; It seems absolutely un-ergonomic to have a drop down list for qsl-via and other fields but still have to click and scroll through the list to find the choice you want. In QSL Via, there are 9 choices, but only 6 choices can be seen out of 9. I'm constantly scrolling up/down. Those dropdown expansion fields should show as many choices as are available. Same with Awards, only 6 choices are shown out of 9 possible choices. Make drop down user resizable and have that size remembered. * LOCKABLE WINDOWS; I sometimes accidentally click on a window (for instance QSL INFO) and dislodge it from it's position. I would like to see a 'lock it in place' type option. * NON-DXBASE IMPORT: I would like to see the Non-DXBase Import module remember all my calls. Presently it only remembers W9OL, and I have to add WA9VOL & WN9VOL each time I download LoTW qsls for that call. * SMART DETECTION OF OH AND I IN CALLSIGNS; It really gets my goat when someone uses a ZERO instead of an OH or EL instead of a ONE. If they do it in a prefix, DXB responds as an unknown and passes it as if it was a new prefix or unconfirmed country. Seems that software could check and compare and decide that 0E1AA should really be OE1AA and process it normally. * REAL OLD SPOTS: When you first connect to a cluster, many nodes will send the most recent X number of spots, as there is the option to fill DXBase with previous cluster spots. This is a good thing, but needed band/mode spots can be populated in the DX Info that are way out of date/time. * For Instance: I connected and I got a half dozen spots that were actually over 12 hours old But in the DX Info window, the time displayed was the time they were transferred from the cluster and NOT the actual time the spots were first broadcast. My suggestion is either a user set time span or even better, the TIME field in the DX Info window should display the time of the cluster spot and not the time it was downloaded into DXB. * AWARDS COLUMN: Challenge should be added to the Awards list. * Actually ALL ARRL and CQ Awards should be listed as options. * 40 METER SSB DX SPOTS. * Currently, a 40 SSB DX spot will frequently decode as a rtty contact, because the DX station is transmitting 7040-7150 but listening 7150-7250 * DXB is decoding the mode by the stations transmit frequency. * Can a cluster spot that is in the rtty section but has 'listening 7200' or 'qsx 7225' be made an exception and decoded as the SSB qso that it robably is? * STATIONS SIGNING /MM (maritime mobile) should NOT be designated as needed for band/mode/entity as they are not accepted for DXCC. At least there should be an option to ignore them. * NEW VERSION UPADATES; One of the biggest complaints AFTER the new version comes out is that ALL the darn customization is lost and has to be repeated. Window size and placement, font size and color, and one of my major annoyances, all the keyboard shortcuts I created for functions such as F12 is Print QSLs and F6 is Initialize log have to be re-entered. (I have keyboard shortcuts for most of the functions) * These should be remembered.... * IMPORT COMMENTS CONVENTION; I use the convention 05 CQ WW CW when I created an .adi file from Writelog which I imported to DXB. * What ever the contest is...I use the year (05) contest name (CQ WW CW) and of course .adi. I would like to see an button type option that would enter the file name minus the extension I'm importing into the 'comments' field of the import program. * PREVIOUS QSO WINDOW & PENDING QSO WINDOWS. These PREVIOUS QSO window should be TOTALLY resizable, allowing as many previous qso's visible as I have screen space for. All the qso's should be sortable based on the field selected. * SETTING A COLOR FOR AN ENTIRE QSO LINE; A feature I would like is to be able to give a 'green-bar' type effect to the lines in the log. Allow me to set a color for a specific log line background. Say I have just worked BS7H on 6 meters, allow me to set that log line to a specific color which will make it stand out. * If I highlight and select a color for a log line; that call/log line color should be carried over to the Previous QSO and Pending Label windows for that qso. * MICROHAM WINKEY SPEED POT; Implement the ability for the speed pot on the microKEYER be left operable when enabling the DXBase WinKey device.
