Tnx for all the good input to my problem. I was on an extended road trip so I couldn't try anything till this past few days.
Up till the past few days I was getting disconnected many times a day. I took the advice I got from you guys. I went into the setup screen on the Netgear WGT624 Wireless Router. Went to Basic Setup. Changed Idle Timeout to zero. It was 8 minutes. For the past few days I have stayed connected except for once. I can live with that. After the next road trip I want to set up VE7CC cluster software. So thanks for that input too on how to set it up. 73, N2TK, Tony -----Original Message----- From: FireBrick [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 12:56 PM To: N2TK, Tony; Dxbase (E-mail) Subject: Re: [Dxbase] DXBase 2006 - staying connected to DSL Tony Check your routers 'Port Forwarding' section. Most Routers have a section in their setup to allow 'Port Forwarding'. You give permission for the program to access various computer ports (not com ports) to pass information. I can't remember, but I 'think' telnet is port 23. Maybe one of the readers knows for sure. ----- Original Message ----- From: "N2TK, Tony" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Dxbase (E-mail)" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 9:04 AM Subject: [Dxbase] DXBase 2006 - staying connected to DSL >I used to stay connected to the internet cluster for days and days on end. > Since I upgraded from Dxbase 2005 to DXBase 2006 I can't stay connected for > even one day.
