Any one have any experience in interfacing a computer that has
DXBase2005 to the IC-706MKIIG. Trying to set up a Dell XP to the radio. I
thought I had all the settings correctly but the computer will not recognize
the radio. Any settings, suggestions, etc appreciated. I thought there was a
couple of files that needed to be added to the DXBase2005 folder when using
XP. If this is so, what are they? Web site only has data for 2006.

Forgot to mention that the computer/radio combination runs OK with N1MM
Logger and the DXLab programs.

JV,
I am using DXBASE "2006" with my 706mkIIG.( The setings should be the
same in DXBase 2005)
Does your computer have a "legacy" serial port or are you using a
USB/SERIAL adaptor?
Make sure you have the folowing checked or selected:
"Manufacturer" = ICOM.
"MODEL" = IC-706MKIIG.
"CTS" checked and "Connect HF Radio 1 Serial Interface" checked.
Make sure you have the correct "Comport" selected.
I am using the following parameters:
BAUDRATE = 1200
PARITY = NONE
WORD LENGHT =8
STOP BITS = 1
I have the IC-706MKIIG internal parameters selected for 1200 baud.
I am using 2 USB/SERIAL adaptors on my Dell laptop along with WINKEY.
