yes there is and I SHOULD have remembered that. I was thinking more like CQ magazine only offers the CQ Zone award.
I've never been a 'paper' chaser, I just work the stuff for myself. There are so many less known awards, especially here in the colonies. Many states have groups that issue paper for working X number of whatever. HAHA: Just had a thought...there used to be a book listing all the hundreds of ham radio awards. Don't know if it's still available. But if it is. We should chip in, buy this tome and send it to Joe Glockner as a present. He would then be able to work 25/8 creating reports for each of the awards listed. I can see his wife bringing in food to him at the desk...beard down to his knees. Pale face, from lack of sunlight. lol lol Do we have any cartoonists on the reflector? :-)) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Fred Handscombe" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "FireBrick" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "DXBase List" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 27, 2006 2:05 AM Subject: Re: [Dxbase] 5BWAZ report(s) posted (DXbase2006) > > >> haha, your lucky there is no ITU WAZ award.... >> think they have more zones. lol >> > > BUT THERE IS!!! > > The RSGB have their "W-ITU-Z" Award with many mode and band variations, and > I believe > the Czech society used to run an award based on ITU Zones too. > > http://www.rsgb-spectrumforum.org.uk/hf%20awards.htm > > I did ask Jack several times to add ITU Zone stats when DXbase had ITU zone > logging > added but to no avail. > > Working all the ITU zones is much harder and more fun, there are quite a few > ITU zones > covering the Asian part of the Russian Federation which are sparsly populated > with > people let alone hams. > > 73 Fred > G4BWP > >
