Hello,

I've been able to launch DXBase 2006 ever since I installed it months ago. This
morning I rcvd this error msg:

C:\my path\K9SKY.mdb is not a valid path.
It is a valid path, one I've been using for months with no prolems and I have
not made any changes to my computer since I used DXBase the night before.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Subject: [Dxbase] Prosistel / BigBoy Rotator interfacing for the D series
        controllers

I have recently changed rotators and now have an RS232 controllable one
it's a Prosistel (AKA bigboy) PST61HP
Prosistel have in the last year or two have moved to DC motors, this
allows for soft start / stop (the good bit)
the bad bit is that they have changed their interface protocols and the
current prosistel config in DXB2006 won't work with the new D
controllers

The following works

to init   stx A
to goto   G# rtn
to stop stx A G977 rtn (this takes 3 seconds and reduces
rotation speed slowly to reduce stress on big antennas

to stop stx A G999 rtn (instant motor stop)

serial 9600 8n1
delay not required

To add this to the defaults edit the rotators.ini file in the dxbase
program folder and add the following to the end of the existing ini
file. This will give you a new entry in the defaults menu

[PROSISTEL_D]
SETROTOR = G# rtn
STOPROTOR = stx A G977 rtn
BAUD = 9600
WORDLENGTH = 8
STOPBITS = 0
PARITY = NONE
INITROTOR= stx A
BYTE=2
USEZEROS=0
BUMP = 5
DELAY = 0

The D controller is now the controller that they ship by
default so all new prosistels are RS232 capable.

Hope this is useful

BTW it's one of the (many!) things I like about DXbase is the use of ini
files for things like this so that we the users can add / tweak stuff
