Trick time gang, It is quite common for some programmes to 'tag' their own files with a related extensions. But for those of us that like to move files for use from one programme to another here is a trick I use.
With almost all programmes when you wish to open a file in up the Browse window and as John (KE5RS) kindly pointed out, in the Files Type box select 'All'. Now once you see all the files you can now do everything the Windows Explore can do, that is modify, rename copy and move using all the common tools found in Windows Explorer. For those that may not know this, simply 'right-mouse-click' on the file(s) and see all the tools available in the context box. One of the best tricks that can be done in the Browse Window is 'right-mouse-click', hold and drag to an area in that window or even outside of the window on you desktop and do a 'Copy Here'. This is a great way to back up a file before you open it. I do this all the time with DXBASE before I import an ADIF file. Good Luck, Eric - VE3GSI -----Original Message----- From: John W. Benedict Hello group If your operating system is changing the extension from *.lst to *.txt, DXAtlas will allow you load pin files with a *.txt extension. When loading the pin list file in DXAtlas, select 'All Files' in the 'Files of Type' selection of the 'Load Pin List' dialog box in DXAtlas. For some of us that have this problem, it will help save a step in the process. Hope this information is useful... John de KE5RS -----Original Message----- From: Carsten Esch ... please let him do a search for dxccmappins.lst on his harddrive. He should find the file in the "Pins directory" under DXAtlas. If not: Some O/S (XP Pro, etc) causes the file to SAVE as dxccmappins.lst.txt ... In this case you would have to rename the file ... Carsten, DL6LAU -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: Auftrag von ?ystein Stokkeland One user in Norway has a problem getting the Pins to be shown. He has a registered version of DXAtlas, and has several tries according to Joe's instructions. The Pins-option in DXAtlas is pressed, but he cannot get pins to be shown on the map. Anyone else that have seen same problem???
