Ken, Guess I better jump into this thread too. The refdata.mdb contains a lot more than just prefix related stuff. It also contains IOTA, Managers, Address, Callmap, Bandplan mapping, etc.... tables. If these other things are of no interest to you, or in other words, you don't add or change manager info, bandplans, callmaps, etc., then copying someone else's file would work just fine. You will end up with whatever they had in their manager/address/iota/callmap, etc... tables in addition to the prefix databases.
