Glenn,

You may be using an M2 rotor control box that uses an updated RS232 command 
set.  Recently, the commands were changed to require the 'A' character in 
some commands as follows:

In DXbase rotor options:
Rotor Type   M2
Initialize    A rtn
Turn Rotor    A# rtn
Stop Rotor    S rtn
Character     selected

Baud    9600
Parity    None
Word length    8
Stop bit    1

Rotor Offset    Plus selected, 0, 5

Earlier versions of M2 did not require the leading A
