I use a microHAMKeyer for USB rig control, FSK, PSK My rig is a FT1000MP. (Most common rigs are supported)
the microhamKEYER controls the rig, and provides FSK, AUDIO, options. It also contains a WinKEY keyer with programmable buffers. If you connect a PC number pad to the unit, you can send cw buffers by hitting the correct button on the number pad. Some USB devices, will NOT do FSK (you can still do AFSK). (I have mine set up to run DXBase and MMTTY simultaneously) The nice thing with the microhamKEYER provides specific cable for your rig. All the proper connectors, cables are included. But the biggest the reason....is SUPPORT. Joe and Jozef, are almost instantaneous in providing the correct answer to your question. If you change rigs, you only have to purchase a new cable set which will have all the correct connectors already installed. A little more expensive than a simple USB to serial adapter...
