Hi Joe, I have to admit, I am about the most inexperienced DXBase user around and after understanding a few minor issues you helped me with, it was really pretty simple. I think a paragraph added to the programs's help menu will be all that would be necessary.
Honestly, "a help guide will be using a "Scanned photo file of the already printed qsl card - as a TEMPLATE for making the TextBoxes in the label designer module" I think this is overkill. It seems like a lot of work to make a scanned copy of your card. The registration between a card and the layout view of the Label maker is fairly good and using a ruler for the rough alignment then a few printed "rough drafts" on regular paper (the size of your card) was enough for me to line up all the fields up with my pre-printed cards. My suggestion would be to add "Printing QSO confirmations on pre-printed QSL cards" to your help menus and just step through some of the basic steps needed is all that is required. I think I was just intimidated by the program and frankly, I didn?t need to be. I am happy to let you know, as a na?ve user, what my issues were, or, just read the e-mails sent by myself and others. But then I lost it when my computer network got hit by lightning. I would love to have a guide to doing it again rather than working through it myself, so, please, go for it! 73, Stan, W4AG -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Joseph Glockner Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2007 12:11 PM To: DXBase Reflector Subject: [Dxbase] Help guide for QSL card making - a question for DXbase users I am currently working on a "Help guide" for those DXbase users who have an already printed QSL card (like a W4MPY printed QSL card, etc) - that they want to simply print the QSO data onto that card - instead of making labels. This help guide will be using a "Scanned photo file of the already printed qsl card - as a TEMPLATE for making the TextBoxes in the label designer module". My question : How many DXbase users are wanting to do this printing directly to the QSL card - but have not designed their own label/QSL card file, because of the learning curve for the Label Designer Module?
