Bob, I am pretty good about updating drivers. When I installed this latest video card I didn't use the drivers that came with it. I downloaded the latest and greatest from NVidia. I keep all my software updated.
I also develop software. There are times when things don't quite work as thought. Sometimes you have to tweak your app a little to make everything just right. An example is in one app I wrote, I didn't expect a large amount of refresh time so I had a progress bar counting every item loaded. Well, the refresh rate on the control itself was long enough that it took forever to load the data. So I tweaked it to update after every 100 items. What a difference. So it may not be something the software guy is doing nor the hardware used, but the control itself. I was just wondering if anyone else had the problem. If it is indeed only affecting those with dual monitors, then those with single monitors may not know this is happening, including the developer. Bill, If I find anything I will let you know. Gregg suggested plugging the USB mouse into the PS2 port. (With an adapter, of course.) I have not had the chance to try this yet. I have always used multiple monitors on all of those computers, and have accepted the fact that that is the key to the problem. Updated drivers are usually a good idea, but I suspect you will still end up with a screen refresh problem with DxBase after you are finished. If you find that it fixes your problem, please let me know! Bill K9DUF ======================= -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert B. Drivers that ship with products are JUST ENOUGH TO GET THEM RUNNING!!!!! First Make sure your Motherboard BIOS is Absolutely The Absolute latest from your Mobo manufacturer. Then update it. Then go make sure you have the latest drivers for your MOBO's Chip set... The chipset controls all the interfacing of your processor, memory, its all the bus drivers, hardware controls... EVERYTHING. Then Go out to your video card manufacturer and download the absolute latest VIDEO drivers for your Video card. You may need to update your Ethernet port, your Audio drivers... You have a lot of work ahead of you. I just bought new Mobo here and the latest bios was 4 versions NEWER than what was on the board!!!! The new drivers were all 1/1/07 or 2/1/07 within a month new for all the other stuff. You cannot rely on a "New Board" having new install software and drivers. Sometimes a NEW DRIVER will cause and issue then you need to back up one to get all software to run. Once you get these things updated many of your problems may just "go away". I just tried it on the secondary monitor and it does the same thing. My video card is new and I play games with it and no problem there. I find that many DXB windows, do not work properly on the secondary monitor in a multi monitor setup. And with my video card, if I open a window for a new program on top of DXB, after closing the new program, DXB may have some portions unseen till refreshed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gregg Marco W6IZT" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'KQ8M'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "'DXBase List'" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 03, 2007 9:36 AM Subject: RE: [Dxbase] Help with log refresh > Tim: > > Are you using a USB mouse? > > I have seen this problem too with DXB2007.
