Ten-Tec has announced the Omni-VII http://radio.tentec.com/Amateur/Transceivers/TT588 which allows full control via Ethernet (TCP/IP). Full control and streaming audio allow remote operation via the internet http://radio.tentec.com/cms-files/Omni_VII_brochure.pdf
With some gain antennas and WiFi 802-11b it would seem you could locate this in that quiet location you dream about and operate the rig from home! Jack...I know you are frustrated by the limitations of the serial interface for rig control...this has the potential to remove those limitations. That means it is not on the top banner, rather it is a separate toolbar located in the DxBase window. You have to start the previous QSO window from the icon in floating toolbar after starting up the find window. If I started the previous QSO window from the menu or from a docked toolbar, it did not crash. If you are not seeing it crash, are you using an undocked toolbar to start the previous QSO window?
