I no longer own a Kenwood radio, but I don't think it is as simple as hooking up
a serial cable to the DIN connector on the TS-450. I don't believe the 450 has
a RS232 compatible serial port, you must use a level converter like the Kenwood
IF232C, which will give you the RS232 interface your looking for. Then it is
as simple as connecting the cable.

Subject: [Dxbase] Radio interface Kenwood TS450S

I've read the help files and the online information from DXbase, and I think
I'm
ready to connect the computer to the rig. Last check.....is it just a DB9
serial plug & cable to a DIN that I need to interface to the radio? Nothing
else? Totally plug & play? Or will I need to do some config exercises after
the cable is in place?

If anyone reading has connected a Kenwood TS450 successfully, I'd appreciate it
if you could drop me a direct email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and tell me how it
went.

Thanks

David
