Tony..you did figure it out however this can serve as a reminder to Jack for the next release:
The help file is in need of a better explanation for this. It's correct in the case where RAC is on a CD-ROM, although showing this as the 'C' drive is incorrect. The 'C' drive is always your hard drive. A proper explanation would be roughly like this: If the callbook is on a CD Rom, then the set up would be: D \ RAC! If the data is on your hard drive the set up would be: C \RAC\ RAC! Hopefully in the next release the help system will be updated accordingly. I had to change the CDROM Data Path to "\RAC\". Now it works fine. I had assumed I didn't need to enter RAC when I selected in CDROM Type. I was wrong. 73, N2TK, Tony -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of N2TK, Tony Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2007 8:23 AM To: Dxbase Subject: [Dxbase] RAC interface I had to reload all my programs on my PC. DXBase 2007 has been running so long without any problems that I forgot some of the setup. Everything is fine except RAC lookup in the "QSL Info" window. In the CDROM window I get "Not found. RAC Error 3". In the User Options window, Directories I have CDROM Drive "C", in CDROM Data Path I have "\", in CDROM Type I have "RAC!". Both boxes are checked - Activate CDROM Interface and Auto Screen Lookup. My Path for RAC is "C:\RAC". I run RAC from the hard drive and it works fine when I hit the RAC icon. I do have raccd32a.dll in the Dxbase directory. What did I forget to do? 73, N2TK, Tony ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Aug 14 14:19:54 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Larry E Price) Date: Tue Aug 14 14:30:57 2007 Subject: [Dxbase] RAC interface In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]><[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <!&!AAAAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAMcA2rFGqvZMqWd/SZLQL6bCgAAAEAAAAFFqYb6BKmVArcM1/S/[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sorry, your explanation makes several assumptions. The "C" drive can be anything you want in flexible operating systems, I have seven drives and I can call them by any letter designations I wish.
