Is there any reason why my reference numbers in DXbase 2006 would start at 5183 (AA4LU test entry) instead of 1 or 1000?

It cannot be changed and is automatically assigned by DXbase for each record added. It is used by DXbase to uniquely identify each QSO record. It doesn't have to start with 1 ...
