Is there any reason why my reference numbers in DXbase 2006 would start at
5183 (AA4LU test entry) instead of 1 or 1000?

Just curious.

Al,

According to the Help File --

REF# - This is a read only field.  It cannot be changed and is 
automatically assigned by DXbase for each record added.  It is used by 
DXbase to uniquely identify each QSO record.


It doesn't have to start with 1  ... "automatically assigned" would
be the key words ...

The preliminary results of the Poll that some DXbase users
responded to are:


DXbase 2007 ----

Manually updates their mdb file(s) ---  42% of respondants
Uses Joe's auto exe file           ---  55% of respondants
Do not update at all               ---   3% of respondants

DXbase 2006 ----

Manually updates their mdb file(s) ---  53% of respondants
Uses Joe's auto exe file           ---  41% of respondants
Do not update at all               ---   6% of respondants
