Peter, There should not be any problem with (for now) staying with the T9 as the Primary Prefix - and just Map E7 to the T9 ...
The SAME holds true for another prefix -- E5 ... we have never converted ZK/S or ZK/N over to the current Prefix of E5/S and E5/N .. (1) If Jack ever changes the above T9 and ZK/S and ZK/N over to what is the currently used prefixes of E7 and E5/S and E5/N - then we can make the FULL switch-over -- instead of just MAPPING the new prefix(es) to the one that DXbase uses to keep track of the ENTITY. or (2) If ITU ever recycled the old prefixes - then we would have to make the FULL changes at that time.. But, for now - we should be ok ... 73 Joe wa6axe Peter Dougherty wrote: > At 02:30 PM 8/19/2007, Sanford Ardern wrote: > >> Open your DXB log then click: Tools / Database Access / Country >> Prefixes / In Prefix Databases - >> click Alias Map - Right click in Map PFX col. - Last Record >> - in Map PFX col. Right, and understood; this is what I have used in both cases. I'm just saying, though, since we may not get a new version of DX Base for a while, might it be false economy to just do the mapping and not just take the time to make the full change? I'm betting on the alias route working *for now* and for the foreseeable future, but T9 will definitely recycle at some point, as will 4N from Serbia, etc. Not too sure about ZK, though. Cheers, Peter, W2IRT
