Bill,

After about half a day of digging and trial and error, I have interfaced my
FT-2000 to DXbase 2007. DXbase and the radio are talking to each other, but
I haven't had time to use it much yet. There could be some fine tuning to
be done later, but as of now, it appears to be working fine.
The first task is obtaining the section of code required for the DXbase file
called "Radios.ini". Follow the info below to get the file that has the
necessary code. It is credited to NF8R. Use the following info to obtain
the file.
=======================

http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/8O7ZRuDS1nuV67EQsfUHYa-v9KCuxeq3QgeRaaC7MlpaPRE
PPNbiitaz5blpNbZGbulFat_nhAaLeeT78jwLGLxCYxGaMXKYs7qQ0A/Radios.ini%20for%20d
xbase%20logging%20program

Copy the convoluted URL directly above, and paste it into your browser
address bar. It should take you into the actual radio.ini file. Scroll
down in the file or search for FT2000 in the file. Copy the section for the
FT2000 and paste it into a copy of your radios.ini file. I inserted mine
just below the FT1000 entry. (I don't think it makes any difference where
you place it.)

If you have difficulty with the link above, go to this link:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ft-2000/files/

Scroll down and look for the item:

FT-2000_computer_control_software.zip

That should be the file you are looking for.

To set up DXbase, check the following items:
Go to "Tools", Options", "User Options", and select the tab for the
appropriate radio. (radio 1 or radio 2)
Select Yaesu for the Manufacturer and FT2000 for the Model.
Check mark in "Connect HF Radio # Serial Interface"
Check mark in "CTS" box (none in DTR High, or RTS High)
Select the com port you are using on your PC
Select the Baudrate that conforms to radio menu item 027 GEnE CAT BPS
(I am using 384H - 38400bps)
Word Length = 8
Parity = NONE
Stop Bits = 2

Set Radio menu item 028 GeNe TOT to 100ms

At this point, with a straight through serial cable, your DxBase program
should be talking to your FT-2000

Subject: [Dxbase] DXBase2007 and FT2000

I didn't get any responses last time so I thought I would try again.

Does anyone use the Yaesu FT2000 and have it interfaced with DXBase? If
so, what did you do to get it to work? I am going to purchase an FT2000
soon and I am hoping that someone might have solved the problem. Some of
the other software providers seem to have the proper software built into
their programs by this time, usually by making small mods to their
FT9000 interface but there is no FT9000 interface either.

Bill, W5VX
