Thanks Bill and Dave. Jack has suggested I might have messed something up with the drivers and that's exactly what I've done. I have installed two different video cards in the last week (trying to find one that does what I want it to do) and am not yet satisfied. Since everything else is working OK, I will follow up on your suggestions once I have settled on a video card I like.
Thanks for the advice. 73 Al, VE1AL -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of FireBrick Sent: Saturday, February 23, 2008 12:18 PM To: DXBase List Subject: Re: [Dxbase] interesting problem My first question is...do dropdowns work in other programs? 2nd have you installed/uninstalled anything lately. Have you made 'restore points' religiously? That you could revert to in case it's a 'windows problem' First things first Go to the DXButility and do a 'backup' then try the compact and then repair. I recently added a second monitor and Pete, W2IRT, suggested I will not be able to use the dropdowns on the 2nd monitor. He's right. Everything works fine on my 19" monitor but not on the old 15" I have relegated to my operating desk. No big deal -- I can move from one to the other to make changes. I'd like to fix it but it seems to be one of those problems that's not going to go away. Thanks to all for their suggestions. 73 Al, VE1AL From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Feb 23 12:55:28 2008 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (FireBrick) Date: Sat Feb 23 13:01:16 2008 Subject: [Dxbase] interesting problem Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Ooops. I didn't know you had added the second monitor. I experienced that way back and never been able to solve it either. So I just keep DXB on the 'primary' monitor. Curious, what kind of video card? Is it a Dual port card like nVidia that I have or are you using two different video cards, one for each monitor?
