Peter,

There is a much easier way to do it. First, as Eric says, make a backup up
of your mdb file just in case. Then go to the first record in your database
and tab over to the Power field. Put your cursor in that field and left
click. Now go the the menu bar and select Edit/Replace... In the 'Find
what:' box type a blank space, in the 'Replace with:' box type 1500 and
click on Replace All. The Replace window will now fill all the blank Power
field entries in your data base with 1500. In the future, immediately after
importing your contest log ADIF, find the first record in the contest and do
the same Replace action.

Also, you may have noticed when importing an ADIF log the 'QSL Via' shows
'None' instead of 'Bureau' which is normally the default for a manually
entered QSO. You can use the same Replace action to change all the 'QSL
Via' fields with 'None' 'to Bureau', but be careful. There may actually be
some entries in your log where 'None' is the correct entry. You may have to
try using the Wizard to extract all the 'None' entries and see if any should
remain that way. If so, you can then manually change them back if there
aren't too many.

Hi Peter,

Try this, using the DXB Wizard, export the Q's for the date range you wish
to change as an ADIF file. Using Notepad as the editor, search and replace:

<EOR>

with

<TX_PWR:4>1500 <EOR>

Now import the edited ADIF file back into DXB again.

I use the above to add power to my imported contest files all the time. Not
sure why it would not work with the date range your wish to change. --- I am
sure you will back up your data file before experimenting.
