Time for me too chime in here. I am wondering if the WinKey interface in DXB
will be fixed in the next release? I use C-Typer with WinKey as it has the
correct implementation to utilize the features I need. N1MM works great with
WinKey also. Jack?

Subject: [Dxbase] Wish list K1EL Winkey enhancements

I really like the K1EL Winkey options available in DXbase but I'd like to
see a checkbox to select a speed pot instead of the WPM settings. The speed
pot is generally easier for me to use rather than bumping the Winkey speed
up with the shortcuts I use in DXbase (CTL-Pageup and CTL-pagedown).

N4PY's control program for Icom and other radios has that feature, to turn
the speed pot on of off, which makes using a Winkey with the speed pot much
simpler and repeatable than the current DXbase WPM options.

Now, to use the speed pot with DXbase, I set the speed setting in WPM
settings to 0, but I can't get the range I'd like, even though I've
experimented quite a bit with the other WPM settings. N4PY has a hard-coded
15 WPM range when using the speed pot, and the minimum of the range is
specified by the user. The 15 WPM range seems fine to me.

Using DXbase with N4PY's program has its advantages and disadvantages. For
my typical DXing, I generally don't use N4PY with my PRO3, which is why I'd
really like to see this enhancement to DXbase. For this situation, N4PY's
program is a Winkey work-around for what seems to me (a non-programmer!) to
be a simple, worthwhile enhancement.
