Dave - I fail to understand your point. I wrote to Dxbase users a group to which I have belonged for many years, I have the CD's each year dating and each year I would buy the new version at Dayton but the last time there was a booth was 2006. In 2007 the explanation was offered that Jack had changed jobs and did not have the time to take part. No explanation of which I was aware was offered in 2008, I fully expected to find a booth in the directory of exhibitors but that was not to be. I don't claim to be a computer hobbyist, logging programs to me are just a tool to further my amateur RADIO activities. I don't want to spend the him I have available for my hobby in updating programs, I want to purchase an updated program periodically which incorporates needed changes and updates. Whether one likes it or not, VISTA is here and serial ports and DB25 connectors are OUT. I want a program where an author is present at Dayton, will sell me an updated version (ideally with a printed manual at extra cost) and can answer questions. For my radio scanning hobby I find that BUTEL is always present with a booth nearby to the former location of DXbase and fills those needs, has updated to include Vista drivers and serial/usb connections and support for the Uniden radios. I don't know what the plans are for Dxbase. I asked that if anyone wanted to comment they should write to me privately and NOT on the Dxbase reflector, you have decided not to do that. However, since my inbox is now about to overflow with messages from Dxbase users who have the very same concerns about the future of Dxbase that I do, perhaps my query has struck a nerve.
