I want to buy an FT-2000, but I am being told that since polling is initially turned off in the radio, it won't interface with a SteppIR controller. I want the SteppIR to follow the frequency of the radio, and I want to be able to use the radio with DXbase.
Is anyone using DXbase with the radios.ini set up for the FT-2000 and also using a SteppIR to track the radio's frequency? I've been told that the contest loggers enable polling in the radio, so it then works with the SteppIR. That's fine for a contest, but I want the radio and antenna to work together when I'm using DXbase (or maybe without a logging program, but that never happens). Can the radios.ini file turn on polling in the radio so the SteppIR will be happy? I like my PROIII, which works fine with both, but I'm talking myself into a Yaesu, but I won't give up DXbase or the SteppIR's automatic operation. Thanks very, very much for any info.
