Hi Gang, First, I do have a DXCC award (100) that was achieved with LoTW only. It was manually created by the DXCC help desk at ARRL at the time, and at the time I did not use the wizard from DXBase. If the my following questions sounds naive it is because I have only little understanding of how the whole process works. Others, my wife included, may suggest it is because I am a slow learner, regardless, I am trying to understand the process of LoTW and how DXBase can use the resulting DXCC information.
Is the automatic DXCC Wizard in DXBase and the resulting Award recommendations suppose to match the suggested calls produced by ARRL from LoTW in any way? Or is a manual selection of the Calls I wish to use towards any award ok? If I do decide on using the DXCC wizard in DXBase, can those contacts be applied directly to match my LoTW QSLs somehow? Perhaps I should summarize my questions to this. Is there a correct way to use DXBase and LoTW together? Regards, Eric - Ve3gsi.
