We all have our opinions but every computer program has a life cycle. Too bad
DXBase is coming to it end.

You could see it coming; longtime between versions, no booth at Dayton, Author
move to Calif (I think).

DXBase wasn't a full time job. But it was done very well.
MS ACCESS version that DXBase was written in is very long in the tooth. Too
costly to port it over to another version or language.

Other software available.

All of those things contribute to System Life Cycle.

When I first started computer logging I used a package called "Total Ham". It
was written in Debase. Worked very well. When Y2K came around I sent a letter
to the author and asked about Total Ham being updated. His wife wrote back and
told me he died. That was the end of the life cycle of the software.

So maybe we as a group should look at the software that is available, and which
will import our files from DXBase and report back.

Just my opinion.
