George, I am not sure what you finally decided to do about trying to copy files from your old machine to the new one, but if you went that route, this is most likely the trouble. The only reliable way to accomplish the installation is to do the following:
1. Unzip the dxbase 2007 installation zip file that you would have downloaded from the web. 2. Turn off all antivirus and other running programs. 3. Make sure you have administrator rights as the user on your computer 4. Run setup.exe following the installation prompts. 5. Reboot machine after installation 6. Apply your registration by double clicking the .reg filename 6. Run DXbase and set user options. Unlike the old MSDOS days, you cannot simply zip up files in the DXbase folder on the old machine and then unzip them onto the new machine. There are many files installed by DXbase into folders other than the DXbase folder and there are numerous entries made to your computer's registry during the installation process. Since it wasn't clear how you went about the installation, I am not sure exactly what you may have done... So hope this helps.
