All good ideas.
I was Just messin with Al cause he was assuming I was too fat Hi HI..
Believe it or not the wife just came home and they had the yearly insurance
meeting at work and if I dont make an attempt to loose weight and quit drinking
the first of the year my insurance will go up and my doctor will have to fill
out a form that im making an attempt ?
Sounds like the old communist Russia to me ..
Sure maybe im a little over weight but thats cause I quit smoking :).. Oh ya
all the smokers have to go to smoking classes? :)...
Anyway back on track.. I do see the need for everything thats been brought up.
I may not need it now but in the future I may.
I just dont want the program to get to crazy. Hell I still havent figured out
the qsl card maker mostly because its over my head because ive never had the
time I needed to really try to figure out how it works..
Im not stupid but kinda getting back to the wants and needs list I want DxBase
to do the work for me and do it easily. Even if I dont have a need for rotor
control .If I ever do I dont want to have to spend 2 days getting everything to
work !
Oh ya Neal fix the port issues. Most all the com ports are a thing of the past
and I cant do anything past com 8 I think it is in DxBase? ... I used to do
kybd cw on the lpt port but with no lpt port and nothing past com 8 I had to go
to another program..
Yes im pretty good at sending and receiving cw but on a pile up for a new one a
nice cw program with canned messages rocks!..
So whos working on the cw rtty voice call sign recognition receiver with
cluster recognition and instant qsy and split operation so I can build up my
totals while im in the garage or out in the woods ? :).. Dont forget to make it
shut down in 35 minutes if it doesnt hear the right call sign. No sense in
cluttering up the band with blind calls :)...
Oh ya it better have a cw voice rtty transmit recorder in it also..
Yup I know guys I really need a job ..

Subject: Re: [Dxbase] Suggestions for dxbase 2010

If any of you have visited the slew of websites listed under my name you
will know that I am heavily into Software defined radios and since they can
be picky about which computers utilize their power to the fullest, I also
build computers tuned for that use.

I probably built 10-20 systems a month for the SDR guys and it is amazing
how many of them are using them for remote operation. I have a friend who
lives on a boat full time and has his station at a friends house in southern
California and uses RealVNC to connect to the computer at the house and
control his radio. This is hardly isolated to SDR users, as the incredible
popularity of Ham Radio Deluxe can give you total radio control for free.

I think a lot of us see this as a growing trend and many of these
"automation" ideas are aimed at remote operations.

Someone wrote me a private note asking that I not turn DXBase into a
contesting program, which I definitely will not do. But I will do what I can
to help the remote operator (as I am occasionally one myself!)
