When you are in CW Character mode they are one in the same.
When you type a character it is typed and then sent immediately and the
character 
Is never displayed on the screen, thus you never see what you have typed or
sent
But when in line mode all characters are displayed on the screen until you
press
The enter key then that line is sent and the characters deleted.
