The following is from the DXbase help file, under "Closing DXbase".
********************* When you close DXbase, the software will save all of its internal statistics data to the hard drive before the screen is destroyed. You can recognize that this process is underway by observing the progress bar on the lower left side of the DXbase status bar. DXbase uses intelligent logic so that it will only perform this process when it is necessary. ********************** The help file calls it saving internal statistics, and you are calling it initialize tables. I'm not sure they are the same thing. But whatever is happening seems to only take place if you have made changes to the database during the time you have had DXbase open. On DXbase here, if I have made no changes, the program just closed immediately when I shut it down. 73, Tim - N3XX Copyright ©1999 - 2006 Scientific Solutions, Inc. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Casamajor" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, January 29, 2010 5:30 PM Subject: [Dxbase] Initialize tables on shut down > DXB 2007 used to initialize tables automatically at shut down of the > program > I believe.
