Here is a snippet of my hosts file: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1:7300 # CC-User
Your entry of: 127.0.0.1:7300 localhost violates RFC952 http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc952.txt which does not permit a port number as part of the numeric address but more troublesome it implies you are redefining localhost from its expected value of 127.0.0.1. My second line also breaks the rules. The operating system may be ignoring these offending lines, allowing DXBase to simply use their data itself independent of the defined purpose of the hosts data. All of this confusion is another good reason why the 'hosts file' method of accessing clusters should be abandoned in the forthcoming release.
