Tim and all: I had mentioned to Ben (KB1FJ), who I had been helping with his ICOM 746Pro problem, that Ben would send out the email telling the DXbase Reflector what we found. But, since Tim has sent out his email to the reflector, I will give everyone a short summary of what we did to cure Ben's problem.
I, myself, do not own and have never used/seen a 746Pro -- but, trying to help Ben - I thought I might be able to lend a hand. I simply made a Radios.ini entry for the 746Pro -- so that when the MODE is being set -- the FILTER (#1, #2, or #3) would be FORCED to be the active one.. But - as it turned out, the SOLUTION to the problem was in the User Options (Radio 1) setup .. the STOP BITS should be set to 2 that was the actual cure!! Ben had it setup for STOP BITS = 1 ... I see - reading the internet - that there are so many postings giving many different setups for the ICOM rigs -- but, for the 746Pro - the answer was stop bits = 2 The Radios.ini file entries that I made for Ben - are not actually needed now - but, he wanted to use them anyway. 73 Joe wa6axe (Retired) > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected]; [email protected] > Subject: RE: [Dxbase] ICOM 746 or 746Pro > Date: Sun, 25 Apr 2010 23:34:31 -0400 > > Oohhh problem solved.
