Ya its been discussed the hosts file needs to be moved to windows\system32\drivers\etc I dont remember if I copied it but i think i did then pasted it into the proper folder but its in the dxbase folder its just that Vista doesnt like it there.. Once you get it in the vista folder it should work . You may have to make a modification like adding these lines at least I have these in my folder in Vista but I dont remember which one worked for me? 127.0.0.1 localhost ::1 localhost
When you go to & you will have to do more to make it work :) Dave N8DC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Kasrich" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, June 2, 2010 9:04:55 AM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: [Dxbase] I'm sure this has been discussed before. but for some reason I can't find it. I just put dxbase 2007 on a new computer with vista business. At first the internet cluster was working although with a node I dont usually use. Now Im getting an error that says the hosts file cant be located. What have I done now? Also I went to look up this in the help file and of course vista says "help" not supported. I assume there is a work around for that also. You all can reply direct if you so as not to bother everyone on the reflector.
