Here is my 2 cents for the discussion. I always bought the latest version of dxbase until they stopped coming out. Why not? The cost to an existing user was quite inexpensive compared to the other costs associated with our hobby and it was a way of helping to support Jack's efforts. Amateur radio is my hobby, not computers. I just want dxbase to be a tool to assist me in my amateur radio activity. I don't want to waste hours fooling around with keeping my program up-to-date. I use a number of other programs that check automatically for updates (Quicken, Roots Magic, MS Office, etc) and give me an option to update or not. For me that was always the one glaring omission in dxbase. So, if you can fix that in the next release, please do.
