Sorry Tim, but I gotta agree with some others. Your simple question would have been fine until you had to add the sarcasm about "why you have a logging program". Pretty cheap shot since the ARRL hasn't even assigned the rules/prefixes/designations yet.
In any case, why don't you just log the darn contacts and put a note in the comments section so you can later make the change to the prefix field once the refdata entries are assigned.
