Have you tried Google groups? I find them superior to yahoo and that is where my Moderator/owner took another group in which I am interested, since Neal is a 'technology -guy' I was surprised by his decision to go to yahoo. But no problem, for me, if everyone else loves them that okay too as fortunately I do have Other Options as the saying goes.
