After one complete afternoon of trial-and-error debugging and research, I am happy to say that Neal and I have found the problem with the DXBPSK2.30 program (and for many versions before that) -- that has plagued SOME users -- some users could run the DXBPSK program all ok - but, some just couldn't even get it to start-up at all ... we started work on this project 7 hours ago -- and now, after finding out that the PSKCore.dll file "was" the culprit -- we are delighted!! and, blurry-eyed!
For those who WANT to download the NEW ZIP file -- and this one only includes TWO files (the exe and the one dll) -- and for those who did not give up on the DXBPSK program -- and do want to run it to try it out -- but, simply haven't been able to before -- I have posted the ZIP file and now modified instructions at my website with the LINK/lead-in at the very top of this webpage: http://www.navycthistory.com/wa6axe/selection.html You will see that the NEW PSKCore.dll file is 300kbytes -- as compared to the original that was from 2008 vintage -- this new one comes directly from Moe Wheatley's PSKCore.dll webpage ... Background: I could run DXBPSK on both of my computers here at my QTH - one Win98SE and one XP (SP3) ... but, on a virgin XP machine (uptodate) at Neal's location -- NADA!! The DXBPSK program errored out immediately upon trying to execute the program .. So, the afternoon/evening has been very fruitful to say the least.. I had asked for some users to help us/me -- but, as you can see -- now, we thank everyone for reading the emails -- but, we are in good shape now.. 73 Joe wa6axe ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
