Hi Joe and Odd-Egil Thank you Joe and Odd-Egil for your quick and helpful replies. I will order the TS-590S to replace my old but faithful IC-736 which in recent years has been used mainly for 50MHz. I hope that the down conversion and use of roofing filters which it is claimed results in an excellent dynamic performance, will help reduce the problems caused by very strong local signals on 50 MHz.
