Dear Joe,
One step is missing! You seeming MUST exit the 'prefix databases' window
AFTER doing the first step, but BEFORE doing the second step, or else the
ST0S prefix/countryID is NOT available! I may have also borked the data for
ST0 (the line before ST0S in the alias map, once sorted), so could you
kindly let me know what the 'old prefix' was?

73,
George K9TRV

Somehow I have lost the window that allows me to type in packet commands. I
looked in the help files and found how to use it but not how to get it back.
Anyone have an insight?

In the Help Files - look for INDEX Title of:

Toolbars Vanished

Follow those steps and you will be all ok ..

Well, I just found a new entry at the South Sudan DXped website which
states:

//quote//

July 19th 2011
Today, the Intrepid-DX Group is making their way to Cairo to
meet with the DX Friends.
Our
advance team will arrive in Juba, South Sudan tomorrow (July 20th) with
a list of tasks to perform in advance of the main team.
As the ITU has not yet issued a new prefix for South Sudan, our license that
was issued in March has the call-sign
of ST0R. (Sierra Tango Zero Romeo).
That will be our call for the DXpedition unless the ITU issues a new prefix
which will require that we amend our license.
More updates to follow.

Thank you,

The Intrepid-DX Group and The DX Friends.

//end of quote//
If they use the ST0R callsign for this Republic of South Sudan DXped, I
will not be making any updates to theDXbase2007 Refdata.mdb file YET ....
I will hope that the ITU assigns a UNIQUE Prefix for Republic of South Sudan
-- and THEN - I will makethe changes to my own Refdata.mdb file ...

In the meantime -- I am going to simply LOG on paper any QSOs that I might
have with the DXped ...
Just wanted to keep you all informed as to what I PLAN to do WRT the
Refdata.mdb file ....

After emailing with Neal about how we would standardize the NEW Entity of
the
Republic of South Sudan -- and going with the INFO that we have currently
available,
I am sending this email out so that anyone who wants to use this can do so
in advance of the DXpedition coming up on July 25th ...

For those who want to make the manual addition of the new country/entity -
here is
what I will be using (if you want to use it also) :

Main Menu / Tools/ Database Access / Country Prefixes .../ Primary TAB
Scrolldown to the bottom of this window and type-in the following info:

Prefix column: ST0S (Sierra Tango ZERO Sierra)
Country column: Rep of South Sudan (abbreviated version of Republic of
South Sudan)
LAT column: +4.86
LON column: -31.6
Deleted column: -- NO Checkmark
Field Check column: -- Checkmark
Bureau column: -- NO Checkmark
CQ column: 34
ITU column: 48
ARRL-ID column: 521
Continent column: AF
TZDIFF column: +0300

Main Menu / Tools/ Database Access / Country Prefixes .../ Alias Map TAB
Scrolldown to the bottom of this window and type-in the following info:

Map PFX: ST0S
Pri PFX: ST0S

Main Menu / Tools/ Database Access / Country Prefixes .../ Call Map TAB

Scrolldown to the bottom of this window and type-in the following info:

Callsign: ST0R

Prefix: ST0S

NOTE: These additions are VERY straight-forward. IF the ITU "does" come-out
with a
brand new prefix for the Republic of South Sudan - we will be able to modify
the
above without any problems ..

This info provided as FYI...

ALSO -- I have updated the "Refdata/Logbook MDB Analyzer & Updater to Ver
4.32" to include
the ST0S additions.

This is available from my Ham Radio webpage at:
