Very interesting idea Dave, esp since I am about to assemble a 3 element yagi 
for 17m & 12m.  The TS-450 has been configured for dedicated digital modes tho, 
including a microKEYER for FSK using the rigs 500hz filters.  The 850 has a 
nice Heil mic on a boom and sound great on SSB.
