Glad I kept XP.

I can turn on or off the rotor or the transceiver and DX Base don't care and
when I turn those devices back on they work as they should. Another reason
why I still have one computer out of 4 that is still running XP - devoted to
ham radio programs and DX Base.

Windows 7 is great and fast but most of my HR software and devices play
better with XP. Might be forced to upgrade when DX Base 10 arrives or run
dual XP / W7.

I did a full uninstall. CCCleaner and reinstall of DXBase 109.
Problem solved.

I don't see that on any of my systems so its got to be something
system-specific to yours. I would uninstall and reinstall and see how that
goes.

I think it was after some contest log(s) I imported but a strange problem
has developed with DXBase.
or
I recently had some computer/flex problems which required cold shut
downs/reboots.

Attempting to edit ANY field in the log results in a LONG DELAY.
For instance
a qso with any qso where I cursor over to a field with a drop down selection
choice will freeze.
The mouse cursor is movable, but the drop down display remains.
Eventually (maybe a minute-90 seconds) the drop down returns to normal and I
can select/correct an entry.
If I go to another field (Band), and mouse click, again the drop down will
appear and freeze again.

The 'Find' option also seems to be effected. It almost instantly find the
desired callsign but the same 'Freeze' occurs (In the case of Find, the
hourglass appears till the freeze ends).
The hourglass icon does not appear when cursoring along the qso to any
field.

I've tried the DXbase Repair Utility
I've shut down/rebooted.
Same anomaly occurs on either monitor.
I've 'initialized'

Even selecting the 'Virgin db' with only the single qso with Jack, results
in this mouse of cursor movement resulting in a freeze up and long delay
before the ability to edit a qso's fields.
This tells me it's not a problem with the log, but possibly a column
description or a corruption of the program itself that occurred during my
rig/computer issues.

One qso or 90K qsos, the anomaly occurs. I only have version 109 on my
computer which is installed on D:\\DXBase109\.

I have NOT tried a reinstall of DXBase as yet.
Unless someone has another suggestion, that will be my next action.
