If you use VE7CC as a proxy between DXBase and your packet cluster, you can filter out such spots.
First connect VE7CC to a packet cluster...preferably a CC-Cluster to allow for best filtering. Set up VE7CC as Configuration>Ports/Logging Program>Logging Program Connection>Enable Telnet>Use Port 7300. Now have DXBase connect to localhost:7300 rather than to a packet cluster directly. In DXBAse under the Internet tab set: Login Prompt as 'login:' and User Login as 'mycall-ssid' (substitute your real call and some ssid here). Leave Pasword Prompt and User Password blank. For host prompt enter '>' and for User connect enter 'sh/mydx'. When you open Window>New Internet Cluster it will sign you on to VE7CC (Actually it is called CC-User by VE7CC). and It will send sh/mydx which will give you a list of spots using your filters as set in CC-User. In CC-User you can set spots to ignore via Configuration>Reject Ann or DX Spots. In there you can enter W3LPL as a spotter, not as a dx spots, and it will ignore all spots generated by W3LPL. The best way to set up you system is to use a program 'Startup Delayer' by r2 Studios. Get the free version, it is all you will need. Set it up to start the start up upon boot to first start CC-User and then after an appropriate length of time start DXBase. This way CC-User will be up and running and stable. When DXBase starts it will make the connection to CC-User and you will get your initial spots. To make the connection to localhost:7300 you have to update the Hosts. file. If you don't know how to do that, ask here...I have to run and am out of time. With CC-User and CC-Cluster you can best set up your filtering. Ron, AE5E PS: I run a CC-Cluster at AE5E-1 DXSPOTS.COM port 23 which you are welcome to connect to. >________________________________ > From: JV <[email protected]> >To: Z DX Base <[email protected]> >Sent: Friday, February 10, 2012 7:33 AM >Subject: [Dxbase] VE7CC > > I run VE7CC cluster.
