Al,

"I still have a copy of the original corrupted VE1AL.mdb database..."

Does that statement mean you have a back up copy of your original data base
that is uncorrupted? If so, I would try the following:

1. Make a copy of that mdb file in another location just in case.

2. Start up DXB2006 with the virgin database. That only has one call in it
that can be deleted later.

3. In the DXBase2006 program group there is a utility called DXB Import. This
is for importing DXB mdb files, much as the Non-DXB Import is for bringing in
adi files. Use the DXB Import to bring your back up mdb file into the new
virgin file. If that works delete the first record in the log from the virgin
import and save your new mdb file (in multiple places!) :)

  Subject: [dxbase] totally screwed?

Somehow, I have lost my VE1AL.mdb database because when I try to open DXbase
I get a message telling me VE1AL.mdb is not recognized. The file itself has
increased, for some reason, to 1,177,346 Mb and will not open.

I still have a copy of the original corrupted VE1AL.mdb database (145,228 Kb)
and I'm not quite sure what to do. I also have a virgin database.

  What next?
