Dick, I have been using two monitors on my system for a few years now. All you need is one video card, but it must support two monitors. In my case, I am using a NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT. It has two DVI ports, and supports two monitors. As for the monitors, for best results, they should be the same size and same resolution (not necessarily the same manufacture). One of my monitors is a Samsung, and the other is an Acer. Though two monitors of different sizes and/or resolution will work; moving the mouse pointer from one to the other will not be "seamless", and it will drive you crazy!
