I just got off the phone with Joe, WA6AXE. Here is my unsolicited review of his value to DXBase users.
What an outstanding resource! In the space of 5 minutes, he took a computer illiterate and showed me how to work through my problems to arrive at a solution. My DXBase 2007 is now literally better than ever. THANKS JOE! TWO things I learned from him. You've heard them before, but they bear repeating. #1 Use the DXB Utility Database tab and COMPACT your mdb file. Mine went from 200MB of garbage to 5 MB of sanity. #2 Use the DXB Utility Backup tab and back up your mdb and refdata files! It takes few moments to a thumb drive but it will save hours of reconstruction or lost Qs. I fortunately had backed up 3 days before my desktop crashed. I know Joe has helped many of us over the years. I'll be taking him to dinner in a couple of months - FOR ALL OF US! 73. Joe T.
