I've been trying on and off for months to install DXBase 2007 on several
different new computers (Windows 7). I've been using DXBase since the old DOS
days. I have the .mdb files backed up, I found the CD that was sent to me, I've
downloaded the latest version, edited the .reg file, etc. etc. I've spent most
of today copying, deleting, installing, editing, and still can't get it to go
on any of my new machines. The closest I can come is starting up DXBase and it
tells me "my 15 day trial period has expired" and it quits. I've tried deleting
anything that looks like it might be related to DXBase, and it still comes up
with messages something like "there's already a file with that name", etc.

I edited the registration file as I found in an earlier message, copied to the
registry, etc. Nor have I been successful trying to import my 11,000+ QSO
database to a machine running Windows XP. It always tells me I have to use a
"Trial" database.

What obvious thing(s) am I missing? I never had to go through this with earlier
versions of DXBase.
