Thanks again, Joe.

I actually haven't completely decided on the ICOM.  A looong time ago I owned an IC211 multi-mode.  It was such a POS (they actually had solder bridges between IC pins to make up for missing traces) I gave it to a friend who also had one, so he could keep one running.  I used to say that it was a tribute to his character that even after taking the radio off my hands, we remained friends.  I swore back then I would never own another ICOM.  But times have changed (I hope).

Wes,

In follow-up ..   There are currently "Four" IC-7600 Radio.ini file entries..

[ICOM_IC-7600]

[ICOM_IC-7600_DW_ok_SPLT_ok]

[ICOM_IC-7600_SPLITOK]

[ICOM_IC-7600_VFO_A_Only]

Since I do not have .. nor have I ever had .. and ICOM rig,
I would suggest that you try to find someone out there that
has an ICOM 7610  rig ...

As far as the Radios.ini file itself .. the only thing that I can
find that would have to be changed to MAKE A NEW set
of IC-7610 entries from the old IC-7600 entires -- would be to
change the line that talks about the ADDRESS  (as I stated in my
last email) ..

Address=0x98

But - you best bet would be to contact an ICOM owner..

Much success!!

    Wes,

    Looking at the ICOM 7600 commands, etc -- the only thing that I think you
    would have to change is the ADDRESS

    Yours would become

    Address=0x98

    This as per the 7610 CAT Commands pdf file ..

    After using Elecraft radios for ten years and Kenwood before that
    (Elecraft copied the Kenwood protocol) reliability issues have me
    considering a new radio. an Icom 7610.  Has anyone interfaced one of these
    to DXBase.  I don't see it in the list of Icom radios, but imagine it's
    similar to others which are.  I'm trying to anticipate the interfacing
    issues that I might have. Wes  N7WS
