To all eleven hams who responded to my request for help with an .adi file, I want to thank you all. It is so good to have great group of fellow hams willing to assist someone in need of help.
I especially want to thank Joe Glockner, WA6AXE. The first response I received was from Joe. (Isn't he always the first:) I have been with DXBase a very long time, and as with most of us I have had my share of problems with DXBase. It is such a shame that the ownership of the program doesn't care about it. Or for that matter, he doesn't care much about all the thousands of us who have dished out many dollars over the years to own this program. But, If you look at the history (evolution) of this program from it's beginning, check all the email about problems and solutions, you will find that it is not the owner of the program, but one of it's avid users, a man who can fix anything that he is allowed access to. A man who comes close to being worshiped by many of the DXBase users and a man so devoted, that he will spend whatever time and effort to solve problems. This man is WA6AXE, Joe Glockner. I know Joe would not want me to say these things. But, DAMN IT, he does deserve recognition! Thank you, Joe, for all the many times you have bailed me out of my own, sometimes, stupid problems. You have done it graciously. Never down playing my ignorance. Always making me glad and happy again. Yes, I am leaving DXBase, at least until such time as someone comes along with the desire to give this once great program the TLC it deserves. That's the need of the .adi file that started this tyrant of mine. Thanks for everyone who has taken the time to read this. If you feel as I do, please take the additional time to write something. If enough of us do this, maybe, things will change. I surely hope so Ben Akins, KB1FJ ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dxbase@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
