Hi Jim

I have that T shirt!

On my PC in C:\Windows there is a file called "Dxb2007" labelled configuration settings

Note NOT the same file in your DXBase2007 install directory

The config file is flat text so can be edited with Notepad etc

Scroll down the to section headed [DIR}

Below that you can enter the path for the new location of your log book under DATAPATH, then it should find it Ok and boot

Best to save DXBase config with a new name first!

Subject: [Dxbase] missing database at startup

I had a system crash and the machine on which a DXbase2007 database resided
no longer exists. This situation has been cleaned up except for one system
which had the prompt for database and column order at startup enabled.

Now when I start DXbase on that system, an error box appears (which is OK)
but when OK is clicked, DXbase exits without giving me a chance to correct
the error condition.

Where is this prompt stored in configuration data? It must be somewhere
that I can modify. Else it appears that the only recourse is to reinstall
the program.

Jim/N1NK
