Hello! I am a Type 1 (and a diabetes educator) and I will be traveling in Egypt later this year. I will be based out of Cairo but will be traveling around. I wear a Medtronic insulin pump. My question is, is U100 Novolog insulin available? If not, what insulin is commonly prescribed for insulin pump use? I am having my doctor write a prescription for me just in case, and want to make sure he writes it for insulin that is available. I will of course be bringing all sorts of extra supplies along, this is just a precaution.
I would also like to know if anyone has a suggestion for a hospital should I get into trouble while there. I would like to put something down on an emergency card, again, just in case.
